Your only source for news on the war is Blogs

Here is a great report of military activities over the last month in Iraq.

The main stream media news reports about the war do not convey the whole story. It is a shame that the general public does not hear stories about success in Iraq or Afghanistan. The only source for clear reporting on the war is on Blogs. Sites like The Belmont Club, Micheal Yon, The Forth Rail and many others collect and analyze reports from the department of defense, AP and all other international sources to create reports on the status and progress of the nation's war. No one likes being at war. But we must win the war. And we are winning the war. So read these sites. It is our responsibility to look for information as we cannot rely on the old media to provide all of the information out there. Remember that we're fighting because we were attacked and that war was declared on US. And we must defend ourselves, at home and abroad.

Excatly WHEN did Iraq attach us?

First, let me thank you, Anonymous, for being one of the very few commenters of my blog. I appreciate your participation. Dialog is what makes democracy work.

Second, it is amazing to me that half of the US population does not make the connection between 9/11 and Iraq. It is very clear to those that understand this connection, so I don't understand why others don't see it. The connect is clear in my mind as follows: I believe that there are groups and organizations in the world that want to rule the world under strict laws which are formed without consideration for the free human spirit. They will kill anyone in their way without debate. It was the Taliban and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan. But there are people with murderous philosophy all over the world. These people do not debate. They do not participate at the UN. They are not governed by the majority of the citizenry. The only means to communicate with them is through violence. So we have taken that means. Saddam wouldn't work with us. Saddam had these people in his country. Saddam paid families of suicide bombers for killing children riding a bus to school. Saddam is one of these people. He demonstrated this when he gassed his Kurdish citizens in the north of Iraq. He demonstrated it when he murdered hundreds of thousands of his citizenry in the south when the UN left after Gulf War. Iraq was invaded so that Saddam, or anyone he was protecting, or anyone he was financing, or anyone he was equipping, would not be able to prepare for and execute an attack on the citizens of the United States. This is the reason we invaded Iraq. This is the reason we may invade Iran. This is the reason we are pressuring all counties we believe are harboring terrorists. We tried to use the UN on Saddam's Iraq for 11 years. We're using the UN on Iran, today. We're following proper negotiations with North Korea. But at some point, when the United States decides that in order to prevent our citizens from being attacked by groups of people who have already decided that they will kill us, we will take preventive action.

I don't believe the information about Saddam’s Iraq is Bush administration propaganda. These stories come from Iraqis. And from sites like the ones on my blog role.

You say "half of the US population does not make the connection between 9/11 and Iraq."
That is because THERE WAS NONE
You go on to say "I believe that there are groups and organizations in the world that want to rule the world under strict laws which are formed without consideration for the free human spirit. They will kill anyone in their way without debate."
This seems like Bush & his fellow "christian conservatives"
Talking about Iraq you state (correctly)"Saddam wouldn't work with us. Saddam had these people in his country. Saddam paid families of suicide bombers for killing children riding a bus to school. Saddam is one of these people. He demonstrated this when he gassed his Kurdish citizens"
So NOT working with the US is grounds for war?
None of these busses were blown up in the US were they?
And the people of iraq should've risen up against saddam when he gassed them not us.
The US isn't the worlds police against dictators (or just certain dictAtors?)
Face it the war is & was wrong

Anonymous,

"THERE WAS NONE" is not a very convincing argument. Please refute my argument. The attack on 9/11 was an attack on America by a group financially supported and physically protected by a foreign government (Afghanistan). Our previous foreign policy towards this government was to negotiate indefinitely. We learned a very painful lesson about this strategy on 9/11. Negotiations alone do not always keep America safe. Iraq was a known supporter and protector of terrorist organizations. See my above comments for more on these facts. How are these two rouge, antagonistic governments dissimilar? We let Afghanistan provide the means for 9/11. We can never let another government do so again.
