"...they know so much that isn't so"

John Noonan @ Townhall.com

------------------

.... Ronald Reagan used to say "it's not that liberals are ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so." ...

... Opposition to President Bush has become downright religious for some Americans—activists whose greatest fear is that victory in Iraq would be tantamount to justifying the whole invasion and occupation.

Thus leftist pundits erect pyramids of anti-war rhetoric, built on falsehoods, misconception, and doubt—constructs that serve as pillars of justification for a hasty retreat. None of it is built on sound military judgment or expertise, which should be a requisite for respected war punditry, but like Ronnie said, "they know so much that isn't so." And, there's nothing left-o'-center bloggers love more than to show off that knowledge.

Take Juan Cole for example. ...

Something I do "know that is so"
President Bush lied & thousands have died (3200 plus US servicemen)
The majority since "Mission Accomplished"

Where is your proof that "Bush lied"? You know that the US acted as a government based on an international understanding of the evidence. No where has it been remotely shown that Bush acted solely on his mis-representation of the evidence.

One of us in totally insane - and neither one of us is qualified to make the diagnosis.

But thanks for continuing to visit and discuss at Geoffosphere!

Citing the British government, Bush claimed that Iraq could launch "chemical attack in as little as 45 minutes" & said Saddam tried to buy uranium from South Afica. The CIA had already flagged both statemnets as false.
These statemnts and the fact that he claimed Iraq had WMD's (have those been found)as a cuase for the war is, I belive, proof the President lied

Before I refute these points, I'm just curious if you know how I will answer these statements? Do you you know what I will say to discredit your statements? If you don't, that's fine, I will gladly explain.
